How to Play

The Basics

• Each puzzle is a small crossword grid — typically 5×5.
• Black squares divide the grid into words.
• Each word has a numbered clue: Across (horizontal) or Down (vertical).
• Fill in every white square with the correct letters to complete the puzzle.

Selecting Cells & Directions

• Click or tap any white cell to select it.
• The selected cell turns yellow. The full active word turns light yellow.
• Click the same cell again to toggle between Across and Down direction.
• Click any clue in the panel to jump directly to that word.

Entering Answers

• Type a letter on your keyboard — it fills the selected cell and advances automatically.
• On mobile, tap a cell then type on your device's keyboard.
• Only letters A–Z are accepted. The grid stores uppercase letters.

Keyboard Controls

Check Feature

• Check Letter — Checks just the currently selected letter.
• Check Word — Checks all letters in the active word.
• Check Puzzle — Checks every filled cell at once.
• Incorrect letters turn red. Correct letters remain unchanged.
• Checking does not fill in answers — it only flags errors.

Reveal Feature

• Reveal Letter — Fills in the selected cell with the correct answer.
• Reveal Word — Fills in all cells of the active word.
• Reveal Puzzle — Fills in the entire puzzle.
• A confirmation is shown before any reveal — you can cancel.
• Revealed cells turn blue to indicate they were not solved by you.

Timer

• The timer starts when you enter your first letter.
• It pauses automatically when you switch to another browser tab.
• The timer stops when you complete the puzzle.
• Your elapsed time is saved — refreshing the page restores it.

Saving Progress

• Your progress is saved automatically in your browser after every move.
• Closing or refreshing the page will not erase your letters or timer.
• Progress is stored locally on your device — no account required.

Completing the Puzzle

• When all cells are filled correctly, a completion screen appears.
• You can share your result — the share text uses emoji squares and shows your time.
• Your statistics (streak, best time, puzzles solved) are updated automatically.

Statistics

• Click Statistics in the navigation to view your personal records.
• Stats are saved locally in your browser — they are private to your device.
• Tracked: puzzles played, puzzles solved, solve percentage, current streak, best streak, average time, best time.
